SUPPORTED BY: Regional Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, Government of Cantabria. Santander City Council.

As proposed by the director and agreed upon by the fair organising body, the concept of “Solo Projects” continues for this year´s fair. With participation from 42 galleries, the aim is to showcase contemporary art as well as harnessing the activity surrounding the seventh Contemporary Art Collection course; organised once again by the Instituto de Arte Contemporáneo (Institute of Contemporary Art) and Asociación de Coleccionistas 9915 (9915 Association of Private Contemporary Art Collectors), and included in the 2019 Summer Programme run by the International University of Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP). This year´s course, entitled “The professional sector of contemporary art and collecting. A better future through dialogue and debate”, will take place in Santander in July at the Palacio de la Magdalena, the headquarters of the International University.

The fair welcomes back part of its Selection Committee: In addition to two members from the previous panel, Beatriz Espejo (art critic. Art History graduate from the University of Barcelona with a Masters in Art Criticism and Communication from the University of Gerona. Since January 2017 Beatriz has been responsible for Babelia, the art section of `El País´ newspaper) and Susana Blas (curator and contemporary art historian, specialized in audiovisual creation); this year Rafael Ortiz will be joining the panel (director of Galería Rafael Ortiz. He has extensive experience participating at international fairs) together with Fer Francés (gallery owner and contemporary art curator) and Óscar Alonso Molina (art critic and independent exhibition curator). Each gallery can present ONE SINGLE PROJECT to be judged by the selection committee.
