In this, the fifth edition of ARCOmadrid, ArtsLibris will be showcasing over forty exhibitors and offering a cultural programme headlined by a cycle of conferences organised and chaired by Andrea Soto Calderón, doctor in philosophy, professor of Aesthetics and Art Theory, as part of the fair’s area, Professional Forum.

ArtsLibris will thus act as a nexus for the creation of dialogue around the subject of publishing today and artists’ publications in the broadest sense and not only in terms of publishing, providing the chance to share and reflect on practices employed in artist’s publications and how these shape sensitivities within artistic production, the context in which they play out and to reflect on  the directions they may take in the future.
Considering the profound changes that artistic attitudes have undergone in the last fifty years, we ask what an artist’s publication can be today.

Furthermore, as in the previous edition, we have maintained Speakers’ Corner, a space where members of the public and exhibitors can come together to put forward and discuss ideas, and which serves as a perfect complement to the bibliographical content in the fair.
2020 constitutes, therefore, a significant step up – the definitive consolidation of ArtsLibris as a space of reference in the field of artists’ books, photobooks, and self-publishing.
